Our lovely Bride of the Month winner this month was Melissa Conachan from King’s Lynn and she is pictured with fiance Daniel Southerland receiving Gift Certificates from Angela Sims, Proprietor of Treasures, The Bridal Shop in King’s Lynn, where Melissa is buying her dress. Melissa from Lincoln, a Cashier at Barclays Bank in Fakenham, is to marry Daniel, from North Norfolk, a Corporal in the RAF, in June 2015.

They met at a Nightclub in Lincoln when Melissa was dancing close to Daniel and when they went to the bar they got chatting and told each other rubbish jokes. They swapped telephone numbers and Daniel called her the very next day to ask her out and they have been together for some nine years. Melissa went to meet Daniel at Marham on his return from Afghanistan. Daniel had ordered a ring and arranged for it to be sent to his Mum’s address. They both went to meet Daniel at Marham with their banner saying “Welcome home Daniel” and Mum passed him the ring. Daniel went down one one knee and proposed in front of 150 people! Melissa told us she thought he might be about to propose but never expected him to do it then in front of so many people so was really surprised and delighted and did say “yes.”

They will be having a Civil Ceremony at Holkham Hall followed by their reception in a marquee at Daniel’s parents farm at Burnham Thorpe. Melissa will be attended by two Flowergirls – Brooke who will be one and Imogen 6 and they are Daniel’s nieces – and Daniel’s Best Man will be David Russell who is apparently known as his “second girlfriend”! They will honeymoon in Las Vegas and Hawaii.

Our stunning Bride of the Month winner Amber Beuchet from Tattingstone is pictured with fiance Harrison Scott receiving Gift Certificates from Jemma Miller, Proprietor of Beautiful Designs in Ipswich where Amber entered The Wedding Guide’s competition. Amber, who works in Customer Services for DHL in Felixstowe, is to marry Harrison, an Industrial Weighing Engineer for Precia Molen in October 2015. They met through friends at school some four years ago – they were out clubbing in Ipswich when a friend introduced them, they got chatting and Harrison asked her out. Amber told us she made him wait for ages before she agreed to go out with him and said “I suppose we had better make it official” and they have been together ever since.

Harrison proposed at the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland whilst they were on holiday there. They were standing on the stones looking at the fabulous view over the Causeway and Harrison said “This looks amazing doesn’t it – there’s only one thing to make this better” and held the ring out to Amber and asked her to marry him. Amber was totally gobsmacked and burst into tears. She never actually said “yes” until later but did appreciate the very romantic proposal.

They will be married in the Register Office in Stowmarket with their reception at the Labour Club in Felixstowe and will be attended by Amber’s best friend Sarah Donnelly as her bridesmaid and Harrison’s Best Man will be his best friend since High School, Chris Gentry.

Beautiful Bride-To-Be Joanne Beaver from Hadleigh in Suffolk is pictured with fiance Michael Barrett receiving Gift Certificates from Sharna Bird at Just A Day Bridal in Ipswich, where Joanne entered The Wedding Guide’s competition. Joanne, Speech and Language Therapist for Adults with learning disabilities at Mariner House in Ipswich, is to marry Michael, a Pharmacist for Boots in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich in May 2016. They met when in their first year at Reading University and Joanne’s first sight of Michael was covered in blue body paint and dressed as one of the Smurfs and then Tweety Pie! They got chatting and Michael asked Joanne out and they have been together ever since. Luckily both their courses were for four years so they were able to be together throughout their time at University.

Michael proposed at the beginning of December last year. They always exchange Christmas cards in early December and in his card Michael had written lovely things and “for that reason….” He asked her to read the card out loud and as she got to that part, Joanne looked up and saw Michael down on one knee and he asked her to marry him. She told us she thought it would happen at some stage but was completely taken by surprise, but did say “yes”. They went over to see her parents to tell them – Michael had asked her father for his daughter’s hand beforehand - and celebrate their engagement

They will be married at St. George’s Church in Shimpling, where Joanne’s parents live and where Claudia Schiffer got married, followed by a Reception at Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer, Nr. Sudbury. They will be attended by three bridesmaids – Michael’s sister Ann, cousin Zoe, and best friend from school, Chloe plus two Pageboys who are their nephews and Michael’s Best Man will be Sam, his friend for life from school. Lovely Bride-to-Be Katrina Lambert from Girton in Cambridge is pictured receiving Gift Certificates from Michelle Honey at Honey’s Bridal & Events in Oakington, Cambridge, together with Matron of Honour Samantha Stevens. Katrina, a full time Mum to Alfie 7, Toby 6, and Maison 5, used to be a Child Minder and met fiance John Spencer, a self-employed carpet layer with contracts for John Lewis, at Secondary School when they were aged 13.

They arranged to meet up as friends and John waited two years as Katrina was not ready for a long term relationship until then. He contacted her after a major search as he said he always knew she was the one and for Katrina she told us she instantly trusted him and fell in love with “John Spencer from Science” from school days at Chesterton Community College.
John proposed on Valentine’s Day which was Katrina’s last day as a child minder, and John arrived with flowers and a Baby Sitter for the children and before taking her out for a meal, proposed down on one knee. He said how much she had changed his life and made him so happy. Katrina said she knew he was the one and said yes. They will be married at Anstey Hall in July 2015 and will be attended by Samantha as Matron on Honour, plus Flowergirl Lola, Samantha’s daughter, and John’s sister Michelle as bridesmaid. Sharon went to meet him with a friend and said if he doesn’t look like his picture, just walk past. Fortunately he did so they did meet and got on really well – Sharon was due to go on another date but cancelled as she really liked Dan.

Dan proposed in Barcelona; he had a beautiful ring designed and out in a special box, like a suitcase, and he was hoping to propose at Cassa Mila, a beautiful historical building in Barcelona, but Sharon kept being distracted and walking away. Eventually, when they returned to the hotel, Sharon went for a shower and when she came out, Dan went down on one knee and said “Sharon will you marry me?” She told us she was totally shocked so didn’t answer so he asked again and she said yes, and promptly burst into tears of happiness.
